First make sure that your 1 quart jar is free from any cracks by inspecting it. Then immerse the jar in simmering water until its ready to be used. Clean a lid. Ring with warm soapy water to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.

In a saucepan over high heat bring a mixture of apple cider vinegar, white sugar, salt, mustard seed and ground turmeric to a boil. Let it simmer for 5 minutes to create a brine, for your pickles.

While the brine is simmering slice up 2 pounds of cucumbers. Chop two sweet onions. Gently place these crispy vegetables into your sterilized jar.

Exercise caution as you pour the hot brine over the vegetables in the jar, sealing it tightly. Pop it into the refrigerator for a leisurely 24-hour wait before indulging in these homemade sweet pickles.

  • 1/2 rsp Mustard Seed
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Tumeric
  • 2 tbsp Salt
