– Measuring Cups – Whisk – Baking Pan – Cooling Rack – Icing Spatula
– 1 ½ cups (187 g) all-purpose flour – 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar – ¼ cup (29.5 g) unsweetened cocoa powder – ½ teaspoon kosher salt – 1 teaspoon baking soda – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon white vinegar – ⅓ cup vegetable oil – 1 cup (237 g) water
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or give it a quick spray with nonstick cooking spray. 2. In a big bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. Just whisk them all together.
3. Add vanilla, vinegar, oil, and water to the bowl. Stir everything together until it's all mixed up. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. 4. Bake it in the oven for 30-35 minutes. You know it's ready when a toothpick comes out with a few crumbs (not all clean!). Let it cool while you get the frosting ready.
