Sharing is caring!

Hello, readers, Austin Carter welcomes you all to Beyond The Bayou Blog to make you feel refreshed with today’s recipe: Strawberry Rhubarb Margarita.

The drink offers a refreshing twist on the classic margarita, combining the sweetness of strawberries with the tanginess of rhubarb, creating a vibrant and summery cocktail perfect for warm weather gatherings. So are we going to serve this drink for some special occasion today?

Umm.. Maybe no. It was just that strawberries were on sale and I spotted some rhubarb and a lightbulb went on. I know they are the perfect combo for a pie or jam, but why not a cocktail?

Next, I was trying to figure out how to make the delicious strawberry-rhubarb syrup. I knew I wanted ginger in there, so I added a 2-inch piece that I minced to sugar and cut up strawberries and rhubarb. The great thing about this syrup is that it can be added to some club soda or sparkling water and make for a nice refreshing soda!

I made all the arrangements for preparing this recipe. So maybe now we are all set to kick start our journey for this juicy cocktail. You can even try Skinny Margarita or Lemon Drop Martini for a sudden shot of refreshment.

Time for The Tips!

What to Serve with Strawberry Rhubarb Margarita?

  1. Customize Your Syrup: Experiment with different levels of sweetness by adjusting the amount of sugar in the strawberry rhubarb syrup. Taste as you go to find your perfect balance of flavors.
  2. Infuse Flavors: Consider infusing the tequila with additional flavors like jalapeno slices or fresh herbs such as basil or mint. This adds complexity and depth to the margarita.
  3. Garnish Creatively: Get creative with garnishes! Instead of the traditional lime wedge, try garnishing with a slice of fresh rhubarb, a strawberry fan, or a sprinkle of edible flowers for an elegant touch.
  4. Rim Variation: Explore different rimming options for your glass. Instead of just salt, try a mixture of salt and sugar, or use a flavored salt like chili-lime for an extra kick.
  5. Presentation Matters: Serve the margarita in unique glassware to elevate the experience. Use decorative glasses or vintage-inspired coupes to add a touch of sophistication.
  6. Fresh Ingredients: Use the freshest ingredients possible, especially for the fruit components. Freshly squeezed lime juice and ripe strawberries and rhubarb will enhance the overall taste of the margarita.
  7. Chill Effectively: Ensure your cocktail shaker and glasses are properly chilled before making and serving the margaritas. This helps maintain the drink’s temperature and flavor.
  8. Balance Flavors: Taste your margarita before serving and adjust the ingredients if needed. You want a well-balanced drink with the right blend of sweet, sour, and savory notes.
