Hey there, it’s Austin from Beyond the Bayou! Today we’re whipping up something that’ll make your taste buds dance – Yum Yum Sauce.

Now, I first stumbled upon this magic in a bottle at my favorite hibachi joint back in college. I’d drench everything on my plate with it, and I mean everything. My friends used to joke that I should just drink it straight!

So, I got to thinking, why limit this sauce to just hibachi nights out? That’s when I rolled up my sleeves and set out to recreate that creamy, tangy goodness right in my own kitchen. And let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer. From dipping fries to jazzing up a sandwich, this sauce does it all.

Today, I’m sharing my take on Yum Yum Sauce – simple to make, but packed with flavor. Trust me, once you’ve got a jar of this in your fridge, you’ll be looking for excuses to use it!

Tips You Must Know!

  • Yum Yum Sauce Doesn’t Taste Right: You likely did nothing wrong! Each Japanese Hibachi restaurant has its unique recipe for white sauce, seafood sauce, or yum-yum sauce. Yours might just differ slightly from mine. Adjust the ingredient amounts to get the flavor you want.
  • To Make the Sauce Whiter: Reduce the amount of tomato paste, tomato sauce, or paprika.
  • To Make the Sauce Sweeter: Double the sugar and omit the hot sauce. You can also add crushed red pepper flakes.
  • To Make It Fancy: Garnish with sesame seeds, either regular or black. Serve your dipping sauce alongside a good quality soy sauce or tonkatsu sauce for a duo presentation.
