This recipe is a family favorite, and I can’t wait to tell you about it! You know, I’m a big admirer of The Cheesecake Factory, and every time I’m there, I can’t resist getting their Bang, Bang Chicken and Shrimp. To put it simply, it is just incredible!

Thus, I resolved a few months ago to bring this same enchantment into my own home. I put quite a lot of time perfecting it through testing and adjusting.

But you know what? I’ve been making it virtually every week since then. Yes, I may be slightly preoccupied, but it is simply that excellent! Now that I’ve shared this recipe with my loved ones, it’s always requested whenever they visit.

Give it a go; I’m dying to see what you think! It’s like a blast of Thai cuisine bliss, and I’m sure you’re going to adore it just as much as we do! Last week I also tried Honey Walnut Shrimp which become my children’s favorite now, so you can simply go for that as well.

Just chicken and shrimp, Thai chili sauce, honey, and rice vinegar are all that are required for this dish. If you try this at a restaurant in your neighborhood, it will make you feel as though there are a lot of components involved; no recipe should be this straightforward.

Ingredients

Chicken and Shrimp

  • 1 Chicken Breast
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups rice
  • 10 medium shrimps
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 2 green onions
  • 1/4 cup peanuts
  • sesame seeds

Peanut Sauce

  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

Chicken and Shrimp

  • Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet.
  • Generously season chicken and shrimp with salt and pepper.
  • Sprinkle cornstarch over chicken and shrimp, ensuring full coating.
  • Add coated chicken to skillet, cook until slightly golden (2 mins per side).
  • Remove chicken, add shrimp, cook until slightly pink, then remove.
  • Set aside for a deliciously golden and perfectly cooked chicken and shrimp combo.

Peanut Sauce

  • Combine all sauce ingredients in a small saucepan.
  • Heat until the mixture gently bubbles, ensuring a flavorful blend.
  • Cover the pan and remove it from the heat, letting the magic unfold.

Notes

  • It literally only took me three minutes to prepare this peanut sauce, but if time is of the essence, you could use store-bought peanut sauce.
  • Stir in the sriracha or cayenne pepper for more heat if desired. Both taste well and are excellent methods for turning up the heat. Some red pepper flakes would be an additional choice.

This chocolate cream cold brew recipe looks interesting. For those curious, the cold brew method usually takes about 12-24 hours to steep, so plan accordingly!
