I have such fond memories of a special recipe from my childhood—Blue Moon Ice Cream. My brother and I always craved it! So, when he surprised me with a visit for dinner recently, I just had to make it. But, the kitchen was missing some ingredients.

No problem! I dashed to the market, grabbed what I needed, and got cooking. Alongside the ice cream, I whipped up some Dirty Rice and Boston Baked Beans for him. Sitting together, digging into the homemade Blue Moon Ice Cream, it was like we were kids again, sharing laughs and memories over a delicious dessert.

So, if you want to know how I make this recipe just stay tuned for the next few moments. Get back to us to share your reviews as I will be waiting for them eagerly.

Time for The Tips!

  1. Perfecting the Color: Achieving that iconic blue color is key! Start with a small amount of blue food coloring and gradually add more until you reach the vibrant shade you desire. Remember, a little goes a long way, so add color in small increments to avoid overpowering the flavor.
  2. Texture Matters: For a smooth and creamy texture, ensure your milk mixture is properly chilled before processing in the ice cream maker. This helps the ice cream freeze evenly and reduces the formation of ice crystals, resulting in a velvety consistency.
  3. Customize Flavor: While the recipe calls for raspberry and lemon extracts, feel free to experiment with different fruit flavors to suit your taste preferences. Freshly pureed raspberries can be a delightful addition for a burst of natural sweetness and vibrant color.
  4. Vanilla Pudding Mix Secret: Using vanilla pudding mix may seem unconventional, but it adds a subtle richness and helps stabilize the ice cream mixture, resulting in a creamier texture. Make sure to use the powder form for best results.
  5. Don’t Rush the Process: Patience is key when making ice cream. Allow the mixture to chill thoroughly in the fridge before processing in the ice cream maker. This step ensures that the flavors meld together beautifully and prevents any graininess in the final product.
