Halloween is the perfect excuse to turn a classic into something spooky-fun and delicious, which is where these Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats come in! With a twist on the traditional recipe, these treats use a touch of pumpkin spice to bring a cozy warmth that perfectly complements the buttery crunch and gooey marshmallow.
They’re naturally orange with no food coloring needed, thanks to a pinch of turmeric, making them as festive as they are easy to make. Plus, each treat can be decorated with a little green candy stem, so they look just like mini pumpkins!
Everyone loves them because they’re not only adorable but also a breeze to make. These Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats are trending this year, likely due to their no-bake simplicity, which makes them ideal for Halloween parties or a fun, kid-friendly kitchen project.

Halloween Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats Recipe
Equipment
- Large saucepan
- Wooden Spoon
- Measuring Cups
- Baking sheet
- Cooking spray
- Small Bowl
- Disposable gloves
- Piping Bag
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 10 oz marshmallows
- 6 C Rice Kripies cereal
- Red and yellow food coloring I used 10 drops red and 40 yellow
- Kit Kat minis
- Green M&M’s
- Black cookie icing
- Candy eyeballs
Instructions
- Melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
- Add 10 oz of marshmallows, stirring until completely melted (or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth).
- Add red and yellow food coloring to the melted marshmallow mixture, using about 10 drops of red and 40 drops of yellow for a bright orange color.
- Pour 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal into the marshmallow mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Lightly spray a platter and your hands with cooking spray. Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, roll it into tight pumpkin-shaped balls.
- Push a mini Kit Kat into the top of each ball as the “stem” and press a green M&M beside it for a “leaf.” (It’s easier to add the M&M once the treats firm up slightly.)
- Dot black cookie icing on the candy eyeballs, sticking them to the pumpkins, and use icing to add a unique face.
- Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days (though they usually disappear fast!).
