- 16 ounces phyllo dough - 1/2 cup mixed nuts - 1 cup unsalted butter - 1 cup granulated sugar - 3 tbps hone
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish. 2. Thaw phyllo dough and cover with a damp cloth. 3. Mix finely chopped nuts with cinnamon. 4. Layer 10 sheets of phyllo dough in baking dish, brushing each with melted butter.
5. Spread nut mixture over phyllo dough. 6. Layer another 10 sheets of phyllo dough on top, brushing each with butter. 7. Cut baklava into desired shapes. 8. Bake for 40-50 minutes until golden brown.
9. Prepare syrup: boil sugar, water, honey, and lemon juice for 10 minutes. 10. Once baklava is done, pour hot syrup over it. 11. Allow baklava to cool in dish. 12. Serve garnished with additional nuts if desired.
