– Mixing Bowl – Whisk – Measuring Cups – Spatula – Toothpick – Cooling Rack
– 1 ½ cups sugar – ¾ cup salted butter softened – ½ teaspoon vanilla extract – ¾ cup sour cream room temperature – 4 egg whites room temperature – 1 egg – 2 ½ cups sifted cake flour – 4 teaspoons baking powder – ¼ cup whole milk room temperature
1, Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for convect oven). 2. Grease and line pans with parchment paper. 3. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy (about 5 mins). 4. Blend eggs in a separate bowl.
5. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until just combined. 6. Fold in chopped candied cherries. 7. Divide batter into pans, bake for 25 mins, then cool before decorating.
8. Mix butter until fluffy (5-8 mins). 9. Add vanilla and mix. 10. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until smooth. 11. Mix in cherry juice until desired consistency.
