cake – ▢2 cups flour – ▢2 cups sugar – ▢¾ cup cocoa – ▢1 teaspoon salt – ▢1 teaspoon baking powder – ▢2 teaspoons baking soda
– 5 tablespoons flour – ▢1 cup milk – ▢½ cup shortening – ▢½ cup butter – ▢1 cup sugar – ▢½ teaspoon salt – ▢1 teaspoon vanilla
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. 2. Grease two 9×13 pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper. 3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
4. In a separate bowl, mix oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Slowly add coffee to avoid cooking the eggs. 5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Then mix on high for 2 minutes. Divide the batter between the pans and bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool on a rack after baking.
