– Mixing Bowls – Kitchen Scale – Loaf Pan – Whisk – Spatula – Measuring Cups
– 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract – 3 very ripe bananas – 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted – 1/2 cup buttermilk – 1/4 teaspoon salt – 3/4 teaspoon baking soda – 1 cup brown sugar
– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour – 1 teaspoon baking powder – 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans chopped (optional)
1. Preheat oven to 350º F (180º C) and grease a loaf pan. 2. Mash ripe bananas in a bowl until smooth. Stir in melted butter, then add buttermilk, vanilla, and sugar.
3. Mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Fold in walnuts if using. 4. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 1 hour, or until a wooden pick comes out clean.
5. Let the bread cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. 6. Mix powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and chopped nuts for the glaze. Drizzle over the cooled bread and serve.
