– French press coffee maker – Kettle or pot for heating water – Chopstick or small wooden spoon – Small plate or plunger lid
– 45 grams coarse coffee grounds 5 tablespoons – 3 1/2 cups water 680 mL
– Heat water to 205°F (96°C) or let it cool slightly after boiling. – Place coffee grounds in the French press carafe.
– Pour hot water over grounds, stir, and let rest for 1 minute. – Stir again to break crust, cover, and steep for 3 more minutes.
– Gently press plunger down until grounds are trapped at the bottom. – Serve immediately in cups. – Transfer leftover coffee to a vacuum-insulated mug for later.
