– Grill or Stovetop Pan – Shallow Dish – Citrus Zester – Citrus Juicer – Kitchen Tongs – Paper Towels – Knife – Mixing Bowl
– 2 yellowfin tuna steaks – Zest of 1 lemon – 2 tablespoons lemon juice – 1 teaspoon black pepper (coarsely ground) – 2 tablespoons olive oil – Salt to taste – Fresh parsley for garnish (optional) – Lemon wedges for serving
Marinate the Tuna: 1. In a bowl, combine the lemon zest, lemon juice, black pepper, olive oil, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to create a marinade. 2. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels and place them in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the tuna, making sure to coat both sides evenly. Let it marinate for at least 15-30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Preheat the Grill or Pan: 1. Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat. Cook the Tuna: 1. Remove the tuna from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for a few minutes.
2. Place the tuna on the hot grill or pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side for a medium-rare doneness, or adjust the time according to your preference. Serve: 1. Once cooked, remove the tuna from the grill or pan. Allow it to rest for a couple of minutes. 2. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve the lemon pepper tuna steaks with lemon wedges on the side.
