– Large non-stick skillet – 4 individual-sized (2 cup) oven-proof -baking dishes – Cooking spray – Oven
– 1 pound Italian turkey sausage links casings removed (hot or sweet) – 1/2 onion diced – 1 green bell pepper diced – 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano – Pinch each garlic powder and crushed red pepper – 2 cups shredded cheese preferably Italian or Pizza blend
– 2 cups marinara sauce – 12 slices turkey pepperoni or regular pepperoni
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Coat baking dishes with cooking spray. 2. Cook turkey sausage, onion, and bell pepper in skillet until sausage is cooked and veggies are soft.
3. Stir in oregano, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper; remove from heat. 4. Divide half of marinara sauce among baking dishes. Top with sausage mixture.
5. Add remaining sauce, cheese, and arrange pepperoni slices on top. 6. Bake until bubbly and cheese melts, 12-18 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
