– Saucepan with lid – Measuring cups and spoons – Stirring Spoon – Whisk
– 1 ½ cups cold water – ¾ cup uncooked white rice – 2 cups milk divided – ⅓ cup white sugar – ¼ teaspoon salt – 1 large egg beaten – ⅔ cup golden raisins – 1 tablespoon butter – ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
– Bring 1 ½ cups of cold water to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat. – Stir in ¾ cup of uncooked white rice. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until rice is tender and water is absorbed, about 20 minutes.
– In a clean saucepan, combine cooked rice, 1 ½ cups of milk, ⅓ cup of sugar, and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until thick and creamy, about 15 minutes. – Stir in the remaining ½ cup of milk, beaten egg, and ⅔ cup of golden raisins. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
– Remove from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon of butter and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract until combined. – Serve warm and enjoy!
