– Large mixing bowl – Skillet or frying pan – Spatula – Measuring cups and spoons
– 3 lbs lean ground beef – 3 eggs – 1 ounce envelopes instant onion soup mix – 1,1/2 cups dry breadcrumbs – 1 teaspoon salt – 1 teaspoon black pepper – 1 tablespoon garlic powder
– 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce – 4 tablespoons flour optional – 4 cups beef broth optional
– Beat eggs in a large bowl. – Mix in soup mix, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. – Add ground beef; gently mix with wet hands and shape into oval patties.
– Fry patties in a skillet until cooked through, then set aside. – For optional gravy, add flour to pan drippings, then beef broth; simmer until thickened.
– Return patties to gravy, simmer until heated through. – Serve Salisbury Steak with mashed potatoes or cooked egg noodles.
