– Blender – Measuring Cups – Strainer – Mixing Bowl – Whisk
– milk preferably whole or 2%; non-dairy milk can be substituted – 3 cups sliced strawberries fresh or frozen, I used one 16-oz bag frozen sliced strawberries – ¾ cup granulated sugar – whipped cream for topping (optional) – ⅔ cup water
1. Combine strawberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan over medium heat. 2. Simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens slightly.
3. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing the strawberries to extract as much syrup as possible. 4. Remove any foam from the top of the syrup and chill it in the refrigerator.
5. To serve, pour ¾ cup of milk into a glass and add 3-4 tablespoons of strawberry syrup (or to taste). 6. Stir well and enjoy!
