– Mixing Bowl – Whisk – Non-stick skillet – Spatula – Knife – Measuring Cups
– 1 cup milk – 5 tablespoons unsalted butter softened – 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast 1 packet equivalent – 1 teaspoon salt – 1/4 cup sugar – 1 egg – 3 1/2 cups flour
– Heat milk and butter to 110-115°F. – Add yeast, sugar, salt, and 1 cup of flour; mix well. – Incorporate egg, then gradually add remaining flour. – Knead dough for 5-10 minutes until it springs back when pressed.
– Let dough rise covered for an hour until doubled in size. – Roll out dough into a 9x15 rectangle, spread cherry syrup, leaving 1-inch border. – Roll up dough into a log, slice into 12 pieces, place in greased pan, and let rise for 30 minutes.
