Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast 2 packets
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 5 to 5 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/3 cup baking soda
  • 3 cups warm water
  • Coarse salt
  • 8 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions
 

  • Warm milk in microwave (1.5 mins, 110ºF). Stir in yeast and 1 tbsp brown sugar; rest 10 mins.
  • Combine with melted butter, remaining brown sugar in bowl or mixer.
  • Gradually add flour and salt, knead 10 mins until smooth.
  • Place in greased bowl, cover with cling wrap, rise 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 450ºF. Punch down dough, divide into 12-14 pieces, roll into ropes.
  • Mix warm water and baking soda in bowl. Dip dough pieces, place on greased sheet, sprinkle with salt.
  • Bake 6-10 mins until browned. Melt remaining butter, dip hot pretzel bites.
