Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and optional cinnamon or fruit preserves until smooth.
Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles.
Add a heaping tablespoon of filling to the wide end of each triangle.
Roll the dough over the filling once, pressing to seal, then continue rolling to the pointed end.
Place crescents on the cookie sheet and bake for 11-13 minutes, until golden brown.
Let them cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
