Equipment

  • Broiler
  • Baking sheet
  • Medium bowl
  • Lemon Wedges Spritzer

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, deveined
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • Lemon wedges
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Chopped parsley or cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat Broiler:

  • Start by heating up your broiler for quick and efficient cooking.

Thaw and Pat Dry:

  • If your shrimp are frozen, thaw them and pat them dry for optimal tenderness.

Prepare Garlic Mix:

  • Mince the garlic and toss it with shrimp, olive oil, oregano, onion powder, and kosher salt in a bowl. Ensure a thorough mix.

Add Breadcrumbs (Optional):

  • If using breadcrumbs, add them and toss until every shrimp is nicely coated.

Arrange on Baking Sheet:

  • Lay the shrimp evenly on a baking sheet. If some areas lack breadcrumbs, add a bit more.

Broil Until Juicy:

  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and broil for 3 to 6 minutes, rotating as needed for even cooking, until the shrimp are juicy and opaque.

Finish and Serve:

  • Spritz the broiled shrimp with fresh lemon juice, sprinkle with chopped parsley or cilantro, and serve immediately for a delightful dish.

Notes

  1. We tested this dish with both jumbo and big shrimp. You can use any size shrimp you find; just be careful to adjust the amount of seasoning to suit the size of shrimp you use.
  2. This shrimp can be served as a starter or a main course.
  3. The size of the shrimp and the oven will determine how long they are baked for. You will know the shrimp are done when they start to curl.
