Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce honey syrup
  • Lemon peel or slice for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Combine honey and water in a small saucepan and simmer for 2 minutes until fully combined. Let it cool for 5 minutes.
  • Store leftover honey syrup in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add bourbon, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 1/2 ounce of honey syrup to the shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until very cold.
  • Strain the cocktail into an ice-filled rocks glass.
  • Garnish with a lemon twist if desired.
