Ingredients

  • 4 cups apple cider
  • ½ inch nub of fresh ginger peeled and grated or finely minced
  • 2 lemons sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 star anise
  • ½ vanilla bean
  • Bourbon

Instructions

  • Combine all nonalcoholic ingredients in a medium saucepan.
  • Simmer on low for at least 30 minutes (or up to an hour for deeper flavor).
  • Measure bourbon into mugs using a jigger or shot glass.
  • Pour the hot spiced cider into the mugs.
  • Garnish with cinnamon sticks, star anise, lemon slices, or thinly sliced red apple. Enjoy!
