Hey everyone, it’s Anne Carter here from Beyond the Bayou Blog. Today, I’m excited to share my take on a classic tiki drink – The Zombie Cocktail. This potent mix has been a favorite of mine since I first tried it on a beach vacation years ago. I’ve tweaked the recipe over time to suit my taste, and I think you’ll love this version too.
Fair warning: this cocktail packs a punch, so sip slowly! I like to make these when friends come over for a backyard barbecue or a movie night. The fruity flavors transport me to a tropical paradise, even when I’m just relaxing at home.
Don’t worry if you don’t have all the exact ingredients – I’ll share some easy substitutions. Ready to shake things up? Let’s dive into this delicious Zombie cocktail recipe.
Why Is It Called A Zombie Cocktail?
The most well-known origin tale for the name of the cocktail states that Donn Beach invented the Zombie to help one of his regulars recover from a hangover.
The patient claimed that the remedy made him feel like a “zombie” when Beach subsequently questioned how it had worked.
