– 1 cup unsalted butter softened – 4 cups powdered sugar sifted – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 4 tablespoons whole milk or heavy cream
1. Ensure butter is softened to room temperature. 2. Sift powdered sugar to remove lumps. 3. Whip softened butter until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes). 4. Gradually add powdered sugar in batches, beating well after each addition.
5. Continue mixing until smooth. 6. Add vanilla extract; mix well. 7. Adjust consistency with 1 tablespoon of milk or cream at a time. 8. Beat for an additional 2-3 minutes until light and creamy
9. Use immediately for frosting or store refrigerated in an airtight container. 10. Bring to room temperature and re-whip before using.
